Do you think Konami looks at this (and Capcom when Mighty No. 9 did it's funding) and thinks "did we miss the boat?" Or is it more like, "they only raised a few million dollars. It's not a hundred million so we don't care."

That's only the money for the budget, not the sales after launch, so they're not necessarily making a significant profit.

So Bloodstained and Yooka Laylee have set records for kickstarter games right? I don't believe any other games have even come close to them, funding wise.

I guess its a sign that the titles starting to go through kickstarter are actually becoming bigger, more mainstream titles. Its kind of sad that big names like this NEED to be funded through this method because publishers don't want to take a chance on anything that isn't their absolute biggest IP's. And in most cases, these publisher-ignored franchises and developers had the potential to BE some of their biggest games if they just pushed the marketing a bit more.

So what's going to come out to help the smaller indie developers get funding when all the AAA indies take over?

Not even close (yet).

Let's keep this about Bloodstained in here, shall we? WinkWink

Don't care much about how much it's made, only that it's being made!

Mighty No. 9's kick-starter also lead to a physical release, so you have no complaints from me here about that!

So pretty. That is all!  Happy

Of what?

Story, gameplay, production values (beyond the pretty drawings and expensive voice actors).

Scam is obviously tongue in cheek hyperbole, but they clearly put zero effort into act II (repeated environments, draft-like puzzle design, and the laughably bad attempt to conclude the plot), so it might as well have been a scam.
